Term of employment: Full-time, Permanent Position with 40-50 hours per week
Job Location: Travel across Canada and the USA with the base at 2524 216 Street Langley, BC V2Z 1P4
Shifts: Weekdays, Weekends, Evenings
Salary: $27.50 per hour. Overtime at the rate of 1.5 times per hour exceeding 60 hours per week
Job requirements:
. Credentials: Class 1 or A driver's license with air brake endorsement.
. Education: High School
. Experience: No experience required. On-the-job training will be provided
. Additional Skills:
. Basic English is required to understand road signs and fill out the logbook
. Be able to work in individuals or in a team
. Clean driving abstract
Type of Travel: Long Haul, Regional, Provincial/Territorial, national and International
Duties:
. Operate and drive trucks /trailers to transport goods and materials to destinations all over Canada and USA.
. Oversee all aspects of the vehicle such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo.
. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems and equipment.
. Maintain logbook, record cargo information, distance traveled, fuel consumption, and other information in the logbook.
. Obtain special permits to cross Canada/USA borders.
. Coordinate with the dispatcher.
