Barker's Trophies stems from Barker's Jewellery. Barker's Jewellery was started by Gordon Barker in 1951.The trophy & award part of the business started taking over the jewellery store. In 1975 the store was split & the beginning of Barker's Trophies.
Since 1975 Barker's Creative & Friendly staff, using the latest in technologies has grown Barker's into Saskatchewan’s Largest Award & Recognition Store, providing the people of Saskatchewan with the most modern, beautiful & elegant awards & gifts.
Our Highly Skilled & Experienced Engravers (whether it be Diamond Cut, Laser Engraved, Routered, Sublimated, Sandcarved, Hot Stamped or Silk Screened) will provide you with a Quality Artistic Finishing touch to your award.
We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser to join our team.
Job Duties:
• Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitors' activities.
• Select products to be sold based on market demand, price, quality, and availability.
• Identify and establish relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and ensure optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
• Set prices for products, implement promotional strategies, and analyze sales data to maximize profitability.
• Develop budgets, track expenses, and analyze financial data to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Identify potential risks such as supply chain disruptions or changes in market conditions and developing contingency plans.
• Liaise with internal teams such as sales, marketing, and logistics, as well as external stakeholders like suppliers and distributors.
Requirement:
• Post secondary education is required, prefer in business, marketing or other related program.
• 2 years buyer or purchaser experience in retail or wholesale industries, or other related field.
• A combination of education and work experience maybe be considered.
