Responsibilities
• Teach students English/Math courses such as SAT, IELTS, ESL, AP and so on, using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, and independent or group projects.
• Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses.
• Recognize variations in student backgrounds, abilities and learning styles.
• Interact in a friendly and patient manner with students from different cultural backgrounds, students of all levels of language proficiency.
• Evaluate students' progress.
• Communicate effectively with students by articulating clearly, selecting vocabulary, and assessing comprehension by varying methods.
• Advise students on program curricula.
• Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it.
• Listen actively and effectively to identify and solve problems, facilitate learning for students, and build student confidence.
• Acquire deeper understanding of both course materials and tutoring techniques and be open to new ideas on how to help students.
• Search and study on latest course materials and exam patterns and keep students updated with most recent tendency.
• Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
• Supervise teaching assistants.
• Plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
• Adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems, and apply them effectively into teaching process.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Establish and maintain rapport, credibility, and working relationships with those contacted in the course of work and be a role model for students.

Employment Requirement
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field of English Literature/Math Education is preferred.
• Tutoring experience in IELTS, SAT, Literacy Assessment, ESL, vocational English and so on for two years is an asset.
• Previous institutional teaching experience is a plus.
