Job Description
. Operating and driving trucks with three axles to transport goods and materials as required
. Safely loading, handling, and transporting goods and heavy cargo safely
. Recording both materials picked up and delivered, performing pre-trip, en-route and maintain their vehicles before driving, updating lines, routes, total mileage and breaks every day
. Reporting any accidents or delays to supervisors, ensuring inspection and repairs to keep their vehicle safe and legal to operate
. Obeying traffic laws and following established traffic and transportation procedures
. Verifying the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
. Performing emergency repairs like changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains and spark plugs
. Reading maps and following written and verbal geographic directions; reporting mechanical problems with vehicles.
