The Role: As a Recycling Truck Driver for GFL, the candidate is responsible for the timely, safe, efficient and customer friendly delivery of waste collection and recycling services to our customers. As the front line of our business, the candidate can help establish and influence the public impression of GFL and ensure it remains an accurate reflection of who we are and what we stand for as a company.

Language: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience driving a garbage or recycling truck

Work Setting
•Various locations around Charlottetown
•Waste recycling

Tasks
•Operate recycling truck and related equipment
•Complete an assigned daily route in a timely and safe manner as directed by the Operations Manager or his/her designate
•Check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment
•Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections and log book
•Perform driver check-ins at days end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
•Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
•Report any malfunctions to supervisor
•Ensure that all protocols are followed while dumping loads at municipal facilities

Credentials
•Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles) OR better
•Driver's validity licence check
•Driving record check (abstract)
