New Island Sushi is amongst the top restaurants in the Saskatoon area. We serve a variety of culinary delights that are served to the highest quality. Our extensive menu includes Japanese-themed dishes such as sushi and sashimi combos, stir-fries, spring rolls, soup, and more. We also offer vegetarian options!

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Manager to enhance our restaurant's operational efficiency and profitability. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and managing budgets to effectively control. Additionally, you will set staff schedules, negotiate catering services, manage customer relations, and oversee event planning. To be successful in this role, you should have at least one year of experience as a food service manager and be available to work during our opening hours.

Main Responsibilities:
• Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
• Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
• Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
• Plan and organize daily operations
• Set staff work schedules
• Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
• Address customers' complaints or concerns
• Manage events
• Recruit, organize, train and manage staff


Minimum Requirement:
• College diploma.
• Minimum one year of experience as a food service manager.
• High proficiency in English, Mandarin, Japanese or Korean is an asset.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Excellent communication skills and service awareness
• Comfortable with working under stress.
• Dedicated to details.
