Westcoast is seeking to hire a Supervisor – Plastics Processing to join us at our facility in Langley, British Columbia.
As a Plastics Processing Supervisor, the following would be your major job responsibilities:
~ Supervise and coordinate the work activities of employees engaged in the plastic processing department.
~ Train new employees on operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards. Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance team performance and productivity.
~ Monitor production processes to maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
~ Implement quality control measures to identify and rectify defects or inconsistencies in the production process.
~ Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment used in plastics processing. Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
~ Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for employees. Coordinate safety inspections and ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
~ Oversee and manage inventory levels of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to support production schedules and prevent shortages or overages.
~ Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production logs, inventory records, and quality assurance reports.
~ Assist the department head in hiring new personnel on the team
~ Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production outputs, inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and safety incidents.
~ Generate reports as required by department heads to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Education and Experience
~ Completion of a program in waste management or recycling or sciences or any related subject matter would be an asset but not mandatory
~ Prior experience working in a waste management setting would be an asset but not required to perform the job

Wage – This is a full-time permanent position at $30/hr for 35 hours per week. Overtime wage will be paid for anything exceeding 40 hours per week.
