Tasks
Conduct feasibility, design operation and performance research of electrical generation and distribution networks
Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Conduct micro or nanodevices simulations, characterization, process modeling and integration in the development of new electronic devices and products
Build predictive models
Conduct research regarding availability and suitability of data
Design methods of collecting and processing data to answer specific research questions
Document technical requirements to ensure that products, processes and solutions meet business requirements
Design and develop power equipment and systems
Realize modelling and simulation exercises on computerized units
Job Duties:
• Developing and implementing machine learning models to forecast power demand and electricity prices.
• Providing analytical support across diverse, cross-functional teams in determining the value proposition for models built.
• Assisting in forecasting the occurrence of system peaks for early notification of customers.
• Assisting the software team in deploying models built in our Azure environment.
• Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of existing models.
• Conducting power market related studies/analysis such as power systems planning, operation and optimization (both at systems level and local level (including DER)).
• Prepare deep learning forecasting models for predicting uncertain parameters in power systems.
• Conduct simulations, back-testing, process modeling, and integration in the development of new products such as Coincident Peak Detection.
• Prepare advanced algorithms to identify unknown components of time series such as Demand and Electricity Price.
• Participate in designing and implementing electricity price forecasting models for the North American electricity markets.
• Provide support to more experienced engineers in performing day-to-day assignments like daily forecasts and risk analysis.
• Assist in the development of new models and improvement of existing models, providing recommendations on strategies to maximize efficiency and quality of new and existing models and other related software products for power systems.
