The Vic, A Boutique Hotel located at 123 Gorge Road E, Victoria, B.C. V9A 1L1, Canada is looking for an operations manager to grow the business by leading and working together with staff amongst our various departments such as front desk, housekeeping and maintenance. The salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 per annum depending on experience working a minimum of 40 hours per week. This is a full-time, year-round position. Our ideal candidate must have the ability to deal with all levels of management and staff professionally. We require candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years experience in a hotel management position.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support and work with front desk and housekeeping departments in all aspects of running the hotel.
• Conduct regular team meetings to discuss routine operational matters, sales targets, guest feedbacks and action taken for service recovery, and any staff issues.
• Randomly inspecting the rooms/public space area to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Assessing and reviewing customer satisfaction and service recovery process.
• Providing timely and constructive feedback to all departments.
• Inspect and operate equipment as necessary and reporting malfunctions.
• Understands night audit procedures and being able to comprehend and utilize reports as necessary.
• Employee engagement, training, and professional development of staff.
• Staffing the hotel appropriately, also including recruiting, training, and the coaching and supporting of all team members.
• Make sure the hotel is well-kept, comfortable, and ready to greet and care for guests.
• To ensure seamless and effective operations, keep an eye on how the various hotel departments are working together.
• Follow up to head office with purchase orders, payable accounts, and receivables
• Hotel workers should be assigned jobs and shifts based on their areas of expertise.
• Gather payments and keep track of all expenses and income.

Requirements
• Minimum 3 years experience in a hotel management position.
• Completion of high school required - Post-secondary education preferred.
• Ability to speak multiple languages is preferred.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Outstanding attention to detail – properly identifying guests’ needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
• Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Skilled in problem analysis, problem-solving and decision making.
• Must be willing to work evenings, late nights and weekends.
