Job Description
- Audits and assesses the OHS programs and procedures, makes recommendations for improvement, and implements corrective actions, with a focus on incident prevention.
- Provides advise/support to management and staff in the identification and mitigation of hazards.
- Conducts regular safety inspections and report any issues/hazards to management.
- Updates Health & Safety procedures and policies.
- Develops Safe work procedures in conjunction with management as required.
- Conducts hazard/near-miss and incident investigations to determine the root cause.
- Advises supervisors/management regarding health and safety issues, rules, and regulations and ensures that corrective action, and follow-up is carried out.
- Schedules and organizes training
- Develops, organizes, and/or delivers training sessions on Health and Safety and other related topics.
- Maintains all compliance documentation and Health & Safety boards.
- Provides support/advisement to the Joint Health & Safety Committees.
- Provides Emergency response support.
- Supports WSIB claims management and facilitates early and safe return to work programs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
