Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Parts Shipping Manager to oversee the daily operations of our shipping department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing inventory, coordinating shipments, and ensuring smooth operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of clerks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing auto parts and products.
2. Plan and assign tasks related to maintaining inventory levels, ensuring accurate processing of orders, and managing stock of auto parts.
3. Review and ensure accuracy in the processing of purchasing transactions and the coordination of incoming and outgoing shipments.
4. Manage the scheduling of shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely processing and movement of auto parts to customers and wholesale partners.
5. Oversee the adherence to safety, security, and operational policies, and participate in the development and improvement of these standards within the shipping department.
6. Address and resolve issues related to shipping discrepancies, customer complaints, and internal operational challenges, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
7. Train and mentor shipping staff on job duties, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure high performance and compliance.
8. Requisition necessary supplies and materials to maintain efficient shipping operations and prevent any delays or disruptions.
9. Ensure the smooth functioning of computer systems and equipment used in the shipping process, coordinating maintenance and repair as required.
10. Identify and pursue opportunities for business development by exploring new markets, expanding the customer base, and enhancing relationships with existing clients.
11. Step in to perform shipping tasks alongside the team during peak periods or as needed to meet deadlines and maintain operational flow.
Qualifications:
• A 2-year diploma in a relevant field is required.
• 2 to 3 years of related work experience in a similar role.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in inventory management and shipping processes.
• Proficiency in using computer systems related to shipping and inventory management.
