Role Overview:
We are seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant. The role involves managing a team of staff, ensuring food quality and service meet company standards, and responding to customer concerns. This is a full-time, on-site position that requires leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and maintain efficient service.
• Requisition necessary food and kitchen supplies, managing inventory effectively.
• Supervise and co-ordinate staff activities in food preparation and portioning.
• Train staff in their job duties, including sanitation and safety procedures.
• Estimate the ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation.
• Ensure food and service meet quality control standards at all times.
• Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
• Prepare and submit reports on operational aspects.
• Create and manage staff work schedules.
Work Environment:
• Work Setting: Restaurant
• Work Location: On-site with no remote work option
• Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are essential.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a supervisory role within the food service industry.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• A team player with excellent communication skills and a focus on customer service.
