As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team and drive operational success.
Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the overall operational management of HMPT Investment Inc., with a particular focus on trade, supply chain, and market expansion within the vaping industry. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will ensure operational efficiency, optimize the company’s distribution network, and drive business growth. Candidates with significant experience in international trade, supply chain management, or service-oriented industries will be highly considered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the daily operations across trade, supply chain, procurement, inventory control and distribution, ensuring seamless flow from suppliers to end consumers.
• Develop and implement long-term business strategies in collaboration with the CEO, focusing on market expansion, vaping product distribution, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, and provide leadership and guidance to human resources, to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures to improve overall business performance. Optimize supply chain processes and logistics to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
• Oversee the procurement of products, ensuring the company maintains a diverse and high-quality product line that aligns with customer preferences and market trends.
• Oversee compliance with all relevant industry regulations, including Health Canada regulations and provincial laws for vaping products.
• Oversee performance management systems to evaluate store managers and sales teams, ensuring they meet operational standards and sales targets. Collaborate with HR to implement hiring, onboarding, and training processes.
• Prepare and present reports to CEO on operational performance, strategic initiatives and risk management.
• Work close with other functions to monitor marketing and promotion initiatives, to ensure company’s brand maintenance and improvement.
• Lead and organize to make marketing plans and research on products and clients’ needs, and adjust marketing events accordingly;
• Analyze operational performance metrics and implement improvements to streamline production, distribution, and sales operations.
• Oversee budgeting for all operational areas, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively to support growth and operational efficiency while keeping costs under control.
• Lead efforts to expand the company’s footprint within and outside of Canada by identifying new locations for new agents or customers and assessing the viability of entering new markets. This could also include exploring e-commerce channels.
• Foster relationships with key suppliers, stakeholders, and partners to enhance trade operations and purchasing efficiency.
Qualifications:
• 5 years+ experience as a COO or in a senior leadership role, ideally within trade, distribution, or service-oriented industries.
• Strong understanding of trade regulations, logistics, and supply chain management, particularly in the vaping, tobacco industry or other related areas.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Strong strategic planning, risk management, public relation, human resource and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in international trade, as well as backgrounds as an Import or Export Manager, Managing Director, Chief Representative, or other senior executive roles, especially those with international trade work experiences will be considered an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
