Overview:

At Global Appetite, we manage some of the world’s leading brands. We are seeking a qualified international sales and business development specialist to extend our global reach through management and execution of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. Our ideal candidate will be qualified to initiate and lead the growth of our import and export businesses (to South East and South Asia) by helping to build billion-dollar brands across multiple markets. Highly skilled at sales and business operations, this person will join and inspire a team of like-minded go-getters to achieve our company vision. They will drive sales in the existing and new Food and Beverage categories by developing and nurturing international trade relationships with vendors and clients from foreign markets.

Duties:

Objectives:

• Managing both the company’s existing sales pipeline and developing new business opportunities in Canada, USA, Asia and select European markets
• Developing and commercializing new Food and Beverage Categories with a focus on Asian market & South Asian consumers
• Identifying trends and customer needs and building short/medium/long-term sales pipelines in accordance with business targets
• Engaging in Active Key account management by developing customer plans and by defining clear activations and tactics that are aligned to the Picture of Success and key initiatives
• Developing market entry strategy for previously untapped geographies / product lines based on market intelligence
• Understanding different consumer groups and using relevant sales revenue and profit levers (e.g. SKU rationalization, customer & trade investment) to drive profitable growth for the business
• Developing strategies and positions by analyzing new venture integration to support sales operations
• Communicating the company’s vision and inspiring others to work towards goals
• Understanding, formulating, and executing business plans accurately
• Assisting with the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies and delegating tasks that achieve strategic goals
• Demonstrating proficiency in the use of digital and e-commerce solutions for growing the consumer base
• Evaluating the international business environment to explore options for sales from new and existing markets
• Developing an annual sales plan and budgeting for the brand, as well as monitoring the expenditure
• Training and managing the team, including motivating, tracking performance and reporting metrics

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and evaluating industry trends and customer drivers and meeting regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
• Managing the proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources
• Applying channel strategy and solutions in each of the relevant store formats where target markets operate
• Acquiring knowledge of the customer and competition operation (purchasing, supply chain logistics, commercial, technical capabilities, outlet, and POP operations) and strategy and sharing it within the cross functional team and management
• Demonstrating an excellent understanding of market flow, company strategy and implementing these independently
• Generating new leads, identifying, and contacting decision-makers, screening potential business opportunities, selecting the deals in line with strategies, and leading and facilitating the route to market strategy
• Developing and implementing overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
• Supporting deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiating prices for proactive proposals
• Maintaining and sharing professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
• Developing standardized Systems and Processes to enhance performance and remove redundancies
• Partnering with the customer facing supply chain team to deliver objectives

Requirements:
• A Master’s degree in International business, management, marketing or related field is required
• 7+ years of progressive experience with Consumer-Packaged Goods, specifically in food and personal care industry, with a proven ability to build cross functional and international relationships
• Experience managing foreign trade for multinational companies with Global operations, in multiple markets
• Good knowledge of North American, Asian and European and markets
• Demonstrated proficiency in Brand building, NPD, Digital media and Advertising with credible achievements
• A visionary with the ability to visualize what is needed for the brand in the future
• A Problem solver with the ability to make critical decisions with limited supervision
• Ability to build relationships and make reliable networks to gain support from all levels of company and customers
• Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working experience with sales techniques
• Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
• Proven ability to plan and manage resources
• Experience with CRM software (i.e. Salesforce) is an asset
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations is an asset
