Salary: $28.50 /hour
Job Responsibilities:
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption
• Load and unload goods
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Transport and handle dangerous goods
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Pay and receive payments for goods
Work conditions and physical capabilities
Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, large workload, Overtime required, physically demanding
Work experience: No experience required. Work Experience is an asset.
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
