Job Description
o Repair automobiles, trucks, buses, and other motor vehicles
o Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
o Specialize in vehicle transmission systems
o Perform all aspects of routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles
o Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components
o Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer
o Pick up and delivery of vehicles.

Responsibilities
Tasks
o Instruct apprentices
o Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
o Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
o Order parts and maintain inventory
o Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
o Keep maintenance reports and documentation
o Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
o Attach components and adjust new farm equipment
o Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
o Perform repair work on heavy trucks
o Service attachments and working tools
o Verify and repair emission control systems
