Columbia Kitchen Cabinets Ltd. is one of the most respected cabinet companies of its kind in Canada and the United States. Columbia craftsmen, many with over 20 years of experience in cabinetmaking, work out of a modern, high tech 100,000 sq. ft. plant ideally located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, just a few miles from the U.S. border. We are looking to hire 1 Cabinetmaker at our plant.
Job Duties include
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Estimate costs and materials
• Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
Employment Requirements:
• The positions require an experience of 2-3 years as cabinetmaker and operating woodworking machines.
• High school education or equivalent experience
• An ideal candidate should be accurate, organized, with efficient interpersonal skills and must be a good team player.
• The incumbent should be capable of handling heavy loads (up to 50lbs).
• The position is physically demanding and requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate must have steel toed safety boots.
Terms of Employment:
The candidates are expected to be available for work for morning, daytime and late evenings. This is a full time (40 hours per week) and permanent position with a salary of $24.50/Hour. The employer provides extended medical and dental benefits as well as group insurance benefits.
