Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;
- Completion of secondary (high) school is required;
- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a cook or a chef in a restaurant is required;
- Work experience in cooking Japanese cuisine is an asset.
Job duties:
- Prepare and cook stock, soup and sauce with kelp, chicken, and vegetables for ramen dishes;
- Boil ramen noodles;
- Prepare, cook and present ramen dishes following the restaurant's recipes;
- Prepare and make toppings for ramen dishes such as chashu (slow cooked pork) and marinated egg;
- Prepare, cook, and present side dishes such as Tebasaki Wings, Karaage, Tsukudani, and Bamboo Shoots;
- Prepare, cook, and present Donburi dishes;
- Create new recipes;
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food;
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff;
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies;
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances when requested;
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
