Job Description
· Prepare menus and estimate labor costs
· Engage in the recruitment of staff and engage in designing policies or budgets
· Check kitchen and dining areas and utensils and equipment to make sure sanitary standards are met
· Maintain and control food and service quality
· Supervise serving of meals
· Maintain quality of special or regular diets and food, to be delivered to hospital patients
· Maintain records, such as amount and cost of meals served, and hours worked by employees
· Educate employees regarding job responsibilities, sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards
· Keep up with stock reports, repair reports, sales reports, etc.
· Set job schedules
· Instruct chefs according to special requirements proposed by customers regarding their food
· Order ingredients or supplies used for food preparation
· Direct, synchronize and set the duties of employees who are engaged in food preparation
Job Requirements:
Languages:: English
Education:: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience:: 7 months to less than 1 year
Ability to Supervise:: 5-10 people, Staff in various areas of responsibility
Own Tools/Equipment:: Safety equipment/gear, Uniform
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Standing for extended periods
Work Location Information:: Willing to relocate
Personal Suitability:: Excellent oral communication, Team player
Additional Skills:: Establish methods to meet work schedules, Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, Hire food service staff, Prepare budget and cost estimates, Address customers' complaints or concerns
