Job Description:
Position: Construction Cost Consultant (NOC 22303)
Job Type: full-time, permanent
Salary: $36/hour
Working hours: approximately 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Location: 17 Enterprise Ave., Unit 1, Nepean, ON K2G 0A7

Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for renovation and construction projects, covering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to assess the scope and develop accurate cost breakdowns.
• Monitor ongoing project expenses, track budget performance, and identify any cost variances.
• Collaborate with project managers and design teams to ensure cost alignment from planning to completion.
• Provide advice on cost-saving strategies and value engineering without compromising quality.
• Support contract negotiations by providing cost analysis and pricing recommendations.
• Stay updated on market trends and pricing for materials and labor to ensure competitive, accurate estimates.
• Document cost analysis processes and create reports for management review.

Requirements:
• A post- secondary education or higher is required
• 1-2 years of proven experience in related fields
• Familiarity with residential or commercial renovation projects is an asset
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local building codes
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and clients
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
• Team-oriented mindset, proactive attitude, and results-driven approach
• Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or weekends to meet project deadlines if required
