United Meat Products, operating as Totera Fine Foods, is a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience in the meat and cheese industry. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality meats, artisanal cheeses, and fine foods to our valued customers, including banquet halls, restaurants, grocery stores, and hotels.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Butcher to lead our butchery department. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of meat preparation, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee daily operations of the butchery department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
-Cut, trim, debone, and prepare standard and specialty cuts of meat and poultry according to customer specifications.
-Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of sales and product freshness.
-Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and food safety standards.
-Train, supervise, and mentor junior butchers and meat cutters, fostering a collaborative and skilled team environment.
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, equipment, and tools, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
-Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 3 years of experience as a butcher.
-Experience in a supervisory role is an asset.
-Completion of secondary school (preferred).
-Comprehensive knowledge of meat cuts, preparation methods, and food safety regulations.
-Strong leadership and team management skills.
-Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
-Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
-Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
