As an Electrical Engineer with enCompass, you will be preparing and performing designs for power systems, grounding, lighting, and control systems for enCompass projects. You will be expected to utilize a variety of technical skills to design and implement solutions, varying in size and scope. Your involvement ranges from the design, implementation, installation, and maintenance of our electrical projects, under the direction of our Manager of Automation & Engineering. This position may require some travel, based on the location of our project sites.
Main Duties include:
Understanding and keeping up to date with critical industry standards
Conducting research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical generation and distribution networks, electrical machinery and components and electronic communications, instrumentation and control systems, equipment, and components
Performing floor to ceiling electrical design of new industrial facilities
Construction and commissioning supervision and management
Expansions and upgrades to existing facilities and plants
Long-term support and servicing for enCompass projects
Preparing material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
Controlling systems and automation projects
Designing electrical and electronic circuits, components, systems and equipment
Creating comprehensive documentation, including specifications, drawings, manuals, and reports, to communicate design concepts, requirements, and procedures
Set up and operate standard and specialized equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical components, assemblies and electronic systems
Supervising and inspecting the installation, modification, testing and operation of electrical and electronic systems
Developing maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems
Investigating electrical or electronic failures
Supporting our Commercial team in identifying and quoting new opportunities
Assisting with the development of job cost estimates and attending critical customer meetings, as needed
Actively participating in Environmental, Health and Safety protocol and developing a thorough
understanding of our safety policies and procedures
Employment Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering or in an appropriate related engineering discipline
Must be registered and in good standing with Engineers and Bioscientists B.C.
Minimum of 4 years of supervised work experience as an engineer
Valid driver’s license
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
