We are seeking a passionate and skilled Head of Kitchen operation to lead our kitchen team and elevate our culinary offerings.
Job Description: As our Head of Kitchen, you will be the heart of our kitchen operation, responsible for all aspects of food preparation and production, ensuring exceptional quality and efficiency. This pivotal role falls under NOC 62200 (Chefs). You will lead, mentor, and inspire our kitchen staff, contributing significantly to our restaurant's success and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
• Create and implement appealing menus, considering seasonal availability, cost efficiency, and customer preferences.
• Supervise the activities of cooks and other kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality, taste, and visual appeal.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies to minimize waste.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, strictly adhering to all health, safety, and food handling regulations.
• Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs.
• Recruit and train kitchen staff.
• Collaborate with the manager of the motel to optimize operations and enhance the dining experience.
• Develop and implement new recipes and cooking methods.
• Resolve any food quality or preparation issues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial kitchen.
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen management.
• Proven ability to plan menus and estimate food costs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• A passion for food and culinary excellence.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• References from previous culinary employers are required.
