• Terms of employment: Full-time, permanent
• Compensation: $25.00 ~ $35.00 per hour (depending on experience and skills)
• Working hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
• Vacation: 4% vacation pay
Job Duties
• Prepare and cook Japanese food items from menu, such as sushi rolls, teriyaki, donburi, udon, yaki noodle, etc.
• Make adjustment to food items to accommodate customers with dietary restrictions
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements
• Manage kitchen operations
• Supervise and train kitchen helpers and junior cooks
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and requisition food and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
• Fast-paced environment, Standing for extended periods
Requirements
• Completion of secondary school
• A minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a commercial restaurant
• Language of work: English
