Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of goods, managing a team of warehouse associates, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Supervisor will also ensure compliance with safety regulations, supervise the organization of stock, and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
Duties:
• Analyze shipment logs: Reviewing and confirming logs to make sure documentation matches actual shipments
• Supervise Warehouse Staff: Leading, training, and managing a team of warehouse associates to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company policies
• Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory control processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, timely stock rotations, and correct product labelling
• Order Fulfillment: Ensuring the timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders in accordance with company standards
• Safety compliance: Enforcing safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse staff
• Conducting safety training and maintaining safety equipment
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements in order processing, inventory management, and warehouse efficiency
• Implementing changes to improve productivity and reducing errors
• Scheduling and Reporting: Developing work schedules for warehouse staff and maintaining accurate records of warehouse activities, including inventory counts and order fulfillment metrics
• Quality Control: Ensuring that products are inspected and meet quality standards before shipment
• Investigating and resolving any product defects or shipping issues
• Communication: Coordination with other departments, such as purchasing, sales, and customer service, to address any operational or order-related issues
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education program in business, logistics, or related field is required
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification) is required
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in warehouse management software (WMS) and MS Office
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations
• Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts)
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Ability to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery safely
Work environment:
This position is based in a warehouse setting, requiring occasional work in outdoor or non-climate controlled environments. There may be exposure to dust, noise, and temperature fluctuations.
