Job Summary
Talent International Logistics Inc. is looking for a Global Transportation Manager to lead and oversee our global logistics and transportation operations. This role involves strategic planning, cost management, carrier negotiations, and compliance oversight to ensure the seamless movement of goods across international markets.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in international supply chain management, and expertise in multimodal transportation operations (air, ocean, rail, and trucking).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics & Transportation Management
Develop and implement global transportation strategies to optimize logistics operations and reduce costs.
Oversee domestic and international freight movement, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and efficient logistics solutions.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to improve logistics network efficiency and supply chain resilience.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with Canadian and international transportation regulations, including customs laws, import/export controls, and safety standards.
Monitor and manage trade policies, tariffs, and logistics industry regulations to minimize risks and maximize operational efficiency.
Implement transportation security programs and sustainability initiatives in alignment with global compliance standards.
Vendor & Carrier Management
Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) service providers.
Evaluate and optimize carrier performance using KPIs to ensure high service levels, efficiency, and cost control.
Maintain strong supplier relationships to enhance business continuity and service reliability.
Cost Control & Budgeting
Develop and manage the transportation budget, ensuring cost-efficient logistics operations while maintaining high service standards.
Analyze freight costs and logistics expenses, identifying areas for potential cost reductions and process improvements.
Implement cost-saving strategies through carrier negotiations, optimized routing, and supply chain improvements.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and train a team of logistics and supply chain professionals.
Provide guidance on transportation best practices, industry compliance, and operational efficiencies.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and teamwork within the logistics department.
Technology & Digital Transformation
Oversee the implementation of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP software, and tracking solutions for real-time shipment visibility.
Utilize data analytics and predictive modeling to enhance logistics planning, efficiency, and performance.
Stay updated on emerging industry trends, automation, and digital transformation initiatives in logistics.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of managerial experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs documentation, and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in freight negotiations, cost control, and vendor management.
Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and transportation management systems (TMS).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment, managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
