Teacher/ Administrator – Eben Ezer Christian School (Chatham, ON)
Eben Ezer Christian School in Chatham, Ontario, is seeking a Teacher/Administrator for our school community in a Christ-centered, Reformed educational environment.
For over 50 years, Eben Ezer has served families in Kent County who desire a Reformed Christian learning environment where all that is taught and done is rooted in the Word of God. Our mission is to work together—parents, staff, students, board, and supporting community—to provide a quality, Christ-centered education for the academic, spiritual, physical, and social development of children.
We are a member of the League of Canadian Reformed School Societies and grounded in the Reformed Protestant tradition.
Position Summary
This is a full-time position comprising classroom-teaching and administration. The Teacher/Administrator will help in formulating the school’s educational program, supporting staff, and fostering a strong faith-based culture in the school and community.
• Start Date: As soon as the successful candidate is available
• Contract End Date: October 31, 2026 (with opportunity for renewal)
• Salary Range: $68,000 – $82,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
• Benefits: Provided through Christian School Foundation's Employee Benefits Plan
• Location: Chatham, Ontario
• Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education or pedagogy, with a focus on school administration
• Recognized teaching certificate from a Canadian province (or equivalent from another country)
• Experience in elementary-level teaching and/or school administration
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• Committed to the Reformed Christian faith and able to integrate that faith into all aspects of teaching and leadership
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Leadership
• Provide Christ-centered leadership to staff, students, and parents
• Lead the school in accordance with its mission, vision, and policies
• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth among staff
• Maintain open, respectful, and effective communication with the school community
Instructional Responsibilities
• Teach the elementary curriculum
• Plan and deliver lessons that integrate a biblical worldview
• Assess and monitor student progress
• Support students with diverse learning needs
• Create a classroom atmosphere that fosters academic excellence and Christian character
School Management
• Oversee curriculum implementation and school programming
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed by staff and students
• Manage classroom discipline in accordance with school policies
• Organize assessment data and complete report cards
• Support extracurricular activities and special school events
