Main Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for the overall maintenance and smooth operation of company facilities, including the warehouse, fabrication shop, and showroom.
• Direct and coordinate the upkeep, installation, and repair of facility infrastructure, production machinery, material-handling equipment, and core building systems (mechanical, electrical, and safety).
• Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs that ensure maximum equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Oversee facility services such as housekeeping, security, safety inspections, snow and ice removal, landscaping, and waste management to maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Develop, monitor, and control maintenance budgets; track expenditures; and generate accurate reports, maintenance logs, and performance statistics.
• Source, negotiate, and manage vendor and contractor agreements for service, supplies, and repair projects.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support facility expansion, renovation, and continuous improvement initiatives, aligning with business growth and operational excellence.
Employment Requirements
• Education: a college or university program in related facilities management and building maintenance, or equivalent combination of related training and maintenance experience will also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in facility operations or industrial maintenance, including supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and oversee both preventive and corrective maintenance programs in a fast-paced environment.
• Software Skills: Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) for scheduling, reporting, and data management.
• Health & Safety: Working knowledge of workplace safety regulations, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
• Additional Assets: Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record; experience managing service contracts; ability to adapt and prioritize multiple projects; excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Compensation & Benefits
• $40.00 per hour, 35 hours per week.
• 4% vacation pay (or 10 days annually).
• Overtime pay after 44 hours per week in accordance with Ontario employment standards.
